Narasaraopeta Engineering College, Guntur has taken a centre stage in nurturing technical education with their regular workshops on the subjects like Big Data, Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, 3D printing, Aeromodelling, Industrial training, MATLAB etc. The college marked a step ahead with their 3D- Printing workshop in November last year. In 2019, they have come up with workshops on "AutoCAD", a must know computer software for civil and mechanical engineers.

To make the students familiar with AutoCAD, a 10-day workshop on “AutoCAD WITH HANDS ON TRAINING ” was conducted in association with APSSDC in Narasaraopeta Engineering College, Guntur during 21st– 30th January - 2019.

Speaking about the scope of Auto CAD usage in shaping the new State of Andhra Pradesh,  M Chakravarthi, Vice-chairman said, “ We have been pushing practical training among students and Teacher with our workshops. The Auto CAD software is a crucial tool in planning and designing commercial and public structures like buildings, roads, drainage, pipelines, dams and so on. The software has found its application in manufacturing, mechanical, production engineering also. Rapid adaption of AutoCAD is a must to compete with the global markets”.

He further continued, “the state of Andhra Pradesh is working from the bottom to build itself up and designing software like AutoCAD holds great possibilities. AutoCAD allows, accuracy and speed in producing real-time powerful graphic models"

Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), a Public-Private Partnership(PPP) organisation to promote skill-development & entrepreneurship in Andhra Pradesh, conducted the AutoCAD workshop.

Students from Civil Engineering (CE), Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) participated in the workshop. Also, participants who had attended the 3D printing workshop in November 2018 benefitted from the workshop. The objective of the workshop was to train the participants in analyzing engineering problems, optimize planning, and to make them explore the field for designing work. Participants were taught how to set up the workspace, make basic/common commands, and 2-D designing and drafting on AutoCAD. Later on, Certification was awarded to the participants.
