M.P. Purushothaman, Chairman and Managing Director,  Chennai-based Empee Group and K.C. Chandrahasan, Managing Director, Kerala Travel Interserve, Thiruvananthapuram were among  the  winners of the fourth edition of South India Travel Awards. The awards were distributed  at  a gala event held  yesterday  at Crowne Plaza, Kochi. The who’s who of the tourism industry in the region were present to honour and acknowledge the hard work of the achievers. The Chief Guest for the evening was Dr. A. Jayathilak, Chairman, Spices Board of India.

India Travel Awards is an all-India platform to recognise and encourage the regional stalwarts and those behind the success of the travel industry. They are one-of-a-kind awards in India based on a unique system of jury judgement and Internet voting for fair and unbiased judgment. This formal black-tie ceremony is glitzy, glamorous and graced by the notables and dignitaries of the travel industry. The awards event has brought more than 150 stars of the travel industry under one roof.

K.C. Chandrahasan, Managing Director, Kerala Travel Interserve, who received the coveted Gallery of Legends Award, said, “It’s a great recognition for me. I have been in the industry for so many years and have seen it change. Receiving this award in front of such an august gathering is quite humbling.”
